Working principles and characterization of visco-elastic and poro-elastic material solutions. Basic concepts and demonstration of innovative meta-material solutions. Basic concepts of active noise control solutions.
Application of the measurement, modelling and analysis techniques for the NVH investigation of electric drivetrains and for Advanced Pass-by noise evaluation.
Concepts of numerical (flow) acoustics, overview of solution methods for interior/exterior problems.
Finite element formulation, application field, coupled versus uncoupled problems, examples.
Boundary integral formulations, application field, solution schemes, coupled versus uncoupled problems, modelling considerations.
Higher-order methods for efficient vibro-acoustic simulation. PML methods for efficient acoustic radiation simulation. Advanced meshing procedures and load modelling.
Theoretical background, principles, assumptions and applications of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA). Overview of some alternative modelling techniques.
Design and characterisation of lightweight noise control engineering materials and control solutions.
Basic concepts of aero-acoustic source characterization. Process flow in hybrid aero-acoustic simulation. Two-port methods for flow-acoustic characterization.
