About the course
The 2011 K.U.Leuven Course
on Applied & Numerical Acoustics will take place in September
2012 in Leuven, Belgium. It is the 23nd in a series of courses on
experimental and numerical techniques in applied acoustics,
organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. This year's edition of the
K.U.Leuven Applied Acoustics Course is set up as an extended
overview of some recent techniques in applied acoustics with
emphasis on applications in automotive and aerospace industry. This
overview covers techniques ranging from active noise control to the
use of boundary and finite element methods in acoustic problems and
is intended to update the expertise of practising engineers and
researchers. The overview is application oriented with emphasis on
background principles and on practical use of the methods. The
course will be illustrated with case studies and real life
demonstrations of several experimental and numerical
techniques.
Who should attend
The course on Advanced Techniques in Applied and Numerical Acoustics is intended for researchers and engineers, active in the field of noise and vibration analysis and optimization, who wish to update their knowledge on some recent topics in applied acoustics. No previous knowledge of the related topics is required; some general background in the field of experimental and numerical analysis techniques is however advantageous.
